Featured Scholarship and Bursaries

High School/ABE Graduation Scholarship

(50 available @ $500-1,000 ea)

Open to any applicant who either 1) is currently enrolled in Adult Basic Education or High School Level III and plans to attend Eastern Academy within the 12 months following graduation or 2) has graduated from Adult Basic Education or High School within the last 12 months.

Awards of $1000 are available for programs of 13 months or longer. Awards of $500 are available for all other programs.

Canadian Forces Military Spouses Bursary

(5 available @ $1,000 ea)

Eastern Academy has a tuition reduction program for the spouses of Canadian Forces members. We wish to support Canadian Forces families by assisting military spouses in the pursuit to further their education and career goals. Spouses of Canadian Forces members who have served at least three years are eligible for the Eastern Academy scholarship program. For military spouses already enrolled, tuition reduction will come into effect at the start of the semester subsequent to the student becoming eligible.

Eligible students are entitled to a total $1000 tuition reduction as long as their spouse remains an active Canadian Forces member. The tuition reduction will be in scholarship/bursary form. Students are responsible to pay any applicable income taxes on these funds.

Scholarship Rules/Guidelines

Values of each scholarship as well as the maximum number awarded is noted on the “Featured Scholarships” page (see below).
Scholarship recipients must maintain enrollment in the Eastern Academy program for which the scholarship applies. If the scholarship recipient withdraws from Eastern Academy prior to graduation the scholarship becomes invalid. Scholarships will be credited to the student’s account during the last semester of the program.
Scholarships are valid at the Eastern Academy Campus in St. John’s, NL only.
Scholarships must be presented to the Business Office in the year that they are awarded unless special circumstances exist in which case a written request must be made to the Board of Directors.
Recipient agrees to allow their name and image to be used in announcements by Eastern Academy and our scholarship partners.
Applications must be submitted to the college prior to the start of classes (unless otherwise noted).
