This question is best answered by our students.  When asked what they enjoyed about their time in school they gave many answers, including:

  • Modern curriculum that that provides the skills employers need.
  • Lifelong Career Services that support all graduates throughout their career.
  • Teachers and support staff who care.
  • Flexible schedules – half day classes, one course at a time.
  • Comfortable, modern facilities.
  • Confidence in how well recognized the college is in the workforce.
  • A family atmosphere in which students feel supported and valued.

Eastern works hard to find the best possible instructional faculty.  While our teachers bring with them a wide array of backgrounds they share a passion for training and genuine desire to help their students accomplish their career goals. All teacher credentials are reviewed and approved by the provincial government before they can be hired.  Once employed, any teacher without an Education degree must complete their Diploma of Vocational Education. This ensures that they not only have a mastery of their specific field but also understand instructional design and practice.

Eastern’s main priority is helping graduates gain meaningful, rewarding employment.  We work hard to ensure that our programs are in demand, current and meeting the needs of employers.  We have a full team focused on graduate placement.  Their efforts are paying off incredibly well as graduates are enjoying the best success in our history.  Our Admissions Consultant would be happy to share our Labour Market Information as well as the stories of program graduates.
Up to September 2016 we were operated by Nova Scotia-based Eastern College.  In that year we spun off and became a purely Newfoundland school with local ownership.  While we maintain an excellent working relationship with Eastern College we are no longer directly related.  We are our own independent organization that focuses exclusively on the needs of local students, graduates and employers.
